Varese pedestrian area (APU Varese) concerns the following streets of the historic center: C.so Matteotti, V.lo Ventura, Via Romagnosi, P.zza Podestà, Via G. Ferrari, V.lo Ferrari, Via Cairo, Piazza Carducci, Via Broggi, Via Cattaneo, Via Cavallotti, Via S.Martino, V.lo S. Chiara, Via Albuzzi, Via Griffi, V.lo Zeni, V.lo Perabò, Via Croce, Vicolo Scuole, Vicolo Basilica, Piazza S. Lorenzo, V.lo Canonichetta, P.zza Canonica, P.zza S. Vittore, Via Leopardi, Via Marconi, P.zza Battistero, P.zza Marsala and Via Cimarosa.

Varese restricted area (ZTL Varese) concerns the following streets of the historic center: via Indipendenza, via C. Finocchiaro Aprile, corso Moro, via Vittorio Veneto, piazzale Trieste, via Timavo, via Donizetti, piazza Giovane Italia and via Rossini.

Admitted vehicles

In Varese Restricted Area (Varese ZTL ), any kind of vehicles can't enter without any authorization, even motorcycles and scooters must be allowed to enter.

  • Public utilities;

  • Surveillance and Armoured.
Short parking (less than 20 minutes) is possible for:
  • Residents;
  • Dimorants;

  • Health vehicles;
  • Bringing Children to private schools.

Time for loading and unloading goods
Authorized vehicles can deliver goods in Varese ZTL: from  7:30 to 9:30, from 15:00 to 16:00 and from 19:30 to 21:00.

Vehicles for disabled people can always enter in Varese ZTL.
If you need to enter without any authorization you have to inform Local Police within the day after since they entered.
You must give the following information:
  • Plate number,
  • Date and time entrance,
  • Disabled permit

Hotel guests can enter in Varese ZTL for loading and unloading luggage.
It is up the hotel to say car plate to Local Police.

Local Police may give temporary access authorizations in Varese Restricted Area after production of motion.

If I got into ZTL without any permission, is it possible to revoke the fine ?
If you got in Varese Restricted Area without any authorization you can't avoid a fine except disabled people.
In these cases, you have to inform Local Police within 48 hours since you entered.
