Syracuse restricted area (ZTL Syracuse) covers Ortigia Peninsula and its boundary concerns: ponte Santa Lucia, via dei Mille, via XX Settembre, piazza Pancali intersection largo XXV Luglio, via Vittorio Veneto intersection largo Forte San Giovannello, lungomare di Levante Elio Vittorini intersection largo Forte San Giovanneo.
In the restricted area, there is a Pedestrian Area, too concerning:piazza Minerva, piazza Duomo, piazzetta S. Rocco, lungomare Alfeo, via Cavour, Landolina, dei Mergulensi, Capodieci, dell?Apollonion, Roma, from piazza Archimede to piazza Minerva, via delle Carceri Vecchie, Picherali, del Collegio, dell?Amalfitania, dei Montalto, Rocco Pirro, Arezzo, dei Cordari, dei Candelai, Gemmellaro, largo Gagini, via Gargallo, Scinà, del Consiglio Reginale, Torres, della Conciliazione, delle Vergini, Santa Lucia alla Badia, San Martino, vicolo Zuccalà, via Laberinto, del Crocefisso, vicolo I alla Giudecca, via Logoteta, from vicolo delle Pergole to via Roma, largo XXV Luglio, from via Chindemi to XX Settembre, narrow streets ofpiazza Pancali.
Where enforced cameras are
Access to Syracuse ZTL is watched by 3 cameras located in:
- Santa Lucia intersection riva della Darsena
- via Vittorio Veneto intersection largo Forte San Giovannello
- via dei Mille intersection piazza Pancali.
ZTL working time and days
Syracuse ZTL works:
- from 1 April to 15 October
- from Monday to Friday and on Day Before not working day from 8.00 pm to 12.00 p.m.;
- On Saturday from 5.00 p.m to 12.00 p.m.;
- On Sunday and on Not working day from 11 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.;
- from 16 October to 31 March
- On Fryday and on Day Before not working day from 8 p.m. to 12.00 p.m;
- On Saturday from 5.00 p.m to 12.00 p.m;
- On Sunday and on Not working day from 11 a.m. to 12.00 p.m;
Admitted vehicles
In Syracuse Restricted Area (Syracuse ZTL ), any kind of vehicles can't enter without any authorization, even motorcycles and scooters must be allowed to enter.
Authorized people
The following kinds of people can enter in Syracuse ZTL without any authorization:
- Disabled people;
- Public transport;
- Public utilities;
- Tow truck ;
- Surveillance:
- Bycicles and electric vehicles.
The following kinds of people can get authorization to enter in Syracuse ZTL:
- Residents;
- House owners;
- Private car park owners;
- Local Administration elected people;
- Shops;
- Artisans;
- Hotels;
- Constructions;
- Sales agents;
- Night worker in ZTL;
- Public utilities;
- Parsons;
- Voluntary organizations for hom care or disabled people;
- Press;
- Bringing students;
- Doctors;
- Hotel guests.
- Movies;
- Occurrence;
- Weddings Vehicles;
- Move;
- Delivery bulky goods.
Time for loading and unloading goods
Authorized vehicles can deliver goods in Syracuse ZTL: from 07.00 to 10.00 and from 15.00 to 17.00 (parking no longer than 30 minutes).

Vehicles for disabled people can always enter in Syracuse ZTL.
If you need to enter without any authorization you have to inform Local Police calling 800632328 phone number within 48 hours since you entered.

Hotel guests access
Hotel guests can enter in Syracuse ZTL for loading and unloading luggage.
It is up the hotel to say car plate to Local Police.

Local Police may give temporary access authorizations in Syracuse Restricted Area after production of motion for these reasons:
- movies
- occurencies
- weddings
- move
If I got into ZTL without any permission, is it possible to revoke the fine ?
If you got in Syracuse Restricted Area without any authorization you can't avoid a fine except for the following situations:
- Chemist's customers if it is working at night or on Sunday;
- Visiting doctors;
- Disabled people;
- Going to veterian ambulatory;
- Taxi and NCC.
